The Annotated Lord's Prayer

Prayer is a part of our nightly routine with our boys. Some nights we pray about our days and about the future, some nights the boys pray their own prayers aloud, and other nights we pray the Lord’s Prayer.

The following is not a direct transcription per se, but it’s definitely informed by some literal experiences we’ve shared while praying.

The Annotated Lord’s Prayer

at bedtime

Our Father
Dada?

Who art in heaven
where’s my stuffie?

Hallowed by Thy—
                                  poop!
                                           —name

Thy kingdom come
*giggles*

Thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven
I'm thirsty...

Give us this day our daily bread
                     ...can you fill up my water?

And forgive us our debts as we 
         ROAR!
                forgive our debtors

And lead us not into temptation
can you tuck me in?

But deliver us from the Evil
                                                poop!
                                                         One

For Thine is the kingdom
      dada, I have a question
               and the power
                      I'm hot
                             and the glory
                                  can you turn the fan on?

Forever and ever
